The Erdenet Cultural and Art Complex commenced operations in 1978. The decision to establish a Palace of Culture at EMC was made by the Presidium of the Head Council of the Mongolian Confederation of Trade Unions. When the first phase of EMC was operational, a significant concert marked the beginning of great cultural arts development in Erdenet.
The complex aims to relieve miners' mental stress, organize cultural, leisure, arts, and artistic mass activities to improve labor productivity, discover and develop the artistic talents of miners' families and their children, and provide quality cultural and arts services. It hosts numerous activities such as the “Erdenet Ball” dance festival, “Safety First” competition, “Cultural Needs” program, “Who Knows Temuujin theChinggis Well” contest, karaoke, class reading competitions, and the elders' “Eternal Youth” dance.
